At an elevation of 650 meters above sea level, Silikou is a village in the district of Limassol that is located 28 kilometers to the northwest of the city. It shares boundaries with Agios Georgios (Silikou) to the south, Lofou to the southwest, Koilani to the west, Pera Pedi and Kouka to the north, Trimiklini to the northeast, and Lania to the east. Regarding the origin of the village's name, it is presumable that it derives from the Latin term Silikos, which is derived from Selisia.
In the village, there are numerous impressive churches with the main one being Agios Georgios the Trophy Bearer. What is more, residents and visitors of Silikou are struck by the charming cobbled streets and picturesque squares, lined with traditional stone homes and adorned with religious landmarks.
The village also offers a glimpse into its history and culture through themed museums and workshops focused on the production of Commandaria wine and olive oil. Upon arriving in Silikou, people will soon come across the Museum of Command, established in 2014. It houses the unique "jar of Syrcas," which has indelible evidence of the Lusignans' regal winemaking. Moreover, the historic olive mill, the oil museum, the tiny agricultural museum, and the beautiful farmhouse with its period-appropriate exhibitions are indispensable to the community.
The village's real estate market is composed of a multitude of different types of properties including houses, villas, plots of land, and bungalows. We feature 22 fält till salu in Silikou.
