The president highlights the significance of higher education for Cyprus's development
President Nikos Christodoulides highlighted the rapid growth of higher education in Cyprus and its pivotal role in the country's economic and social development.
He talked about initiatives to modernise education, improve connections with the labour market, and highlight the value of organisations in enhancing young people's employability and skill sets.
The President pointed out that higher education in Cyprus is advancing in line with technological and economic progress. He also noted that the Ministry of Education is working to further modernize the sector, focusing on excellence, research, and skill development aligned with labor market needs.
Christodoulides urged all higher education institutions to help in implementing the government's strategy to establish Cyprus as a hub for regional research and education. In order to better match education with the changing needs of the job market, he also suggested a new project to track graduates' skills.
