New record for the airports in Larnaca and Paphos
Cyprus has set a new traffic records for Larnaca and Paphos airports with exceeded 12 million passengers at the end of the year as told by Maria Kouroupi to the KYPE, Director of Aviation Development and Communication of Hermes Airports.
As noted, ‘the very good results and the new record expected to be recorded by the end of the week, where 12 million passengers will be exceeded for the first time, confirm the successful strategy of Hermes Airports to develop the connectivity and pluralistic program of our network’.
According to data from Hermes Airports, "in November a total of 715,231 passengers were handled through Larnaca and Paphos airports, marking a 7% increase compared to November 2023".
It is noted that new itineraries have already started for the winter season, while the program includes 3 new destinations by Wizz Air, Ryanair, British Airways, EasyJet, LOT and SAS.
In her statements to the KYPE, Ms. Kouroupi also stated that ‘since taking over the management of Larnaca and Paphos airports, we have achieved a significant expansion of the connectivity of Cyprus as we recognize its catalytic role in the development of the Cypriot tourism industry.’
Additionally, she noted that ‘a proper strategy will be needed to develop new products, according to the requirements of modern travelers and the cooperation of all tourism agencies’.
