Digital road signs to guide drivers in real time
New electronic information signs are being installed on highways and major roads to improve driver awareness and road safety. The signs will provide real-time updates on traffic conditions, weather, roadworks and accidents, helping drivers make safer and more informed decisions while travelling.
The system is designed to operate in line with standards used in other European countries, offering immediate and reliable information as conditions change. Messages will be displayed based on pre-set scenarios and coordinated with the relevant authorities to ensure accuracy and timely updates.
A total of 40 electronic signs will be installed, with 20 placed on highways and another 20 on key urban road routes. The necessary technical checks have been completed, and once full electrification is finalised, the signs are expected to become operational within the coming months.
