Ayia Anna is a tiny village in the district of Larnaca, that is conveniently accessible from Larnaca and Nicosia, very modest, and filled with genuine Cypriot hospitality! It was built in the valley of the Tremithos river and is surrounded by low mountains. Its neighbor villages are Pseudas and Kalo Chorio. It has been determined from historical evidence and research that Ayia Anna was first settled between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. Additionally, it is believed that the region has been inhabited for a very long time—specifically, since the Neolithic era—based on the results of archaeological excavations that have been conducted nearby.
Ayia Anna has lovely traditional character houses which are constructed the one next to the other. They are built with limestone of the area and the houses’ roofs are sloped, made of tiles. What distinguishes the village are the three main squares, with the basic square found in the center of the village where solely Turkish Cypriots used to reside. There is also still the school that was once attended by Turkish Cypriot children. Following the Turkish invasion, now only Greek Cypriots reside in Ayia Anna. There has been a rise in the community’s population in recent years.
The village is a great place to live, if you desire a quiet and warm area, and also be near to the city of Larnaca, where all the comforts of a city can be found. The real estate is made up of country houses and a few apartments.
