UK maintains position as leading tourist source for Cyprus in February

Tourism in Cyprus has seen significant growth in early 2025, with an increase in both international visitors and trips taken by Cypriot residents. The latest data shows a 7% rise in tourist arrivals in February, reflecting a strong start to the year for the island's tourism industry.

In February 2025, Cyprus saw a 7% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the previous year, welcoming 32,865 additional visitors. A total of 133,760 tourists arrived in February 2025, up from 125,034 in the same month of 2024. The year-to-date arrivals for January and February 2025 reached 245,860, marking a 15.4% rise from 2024.

The United Kingdom was the leading source of tourism, accounting for 24.8% of all arrivals, followed by Poland (15.1%), Israel (14.3%), and Greece (8.2%). Most tourists came for holiday purposes (60.3%), with fewer visiting for business (19.1%) or to see friends and family (20.4%).

Additionally, Cypriot residents increased their travel abroad in February 2025, with 124,232 trips compared to 114,110 in February 2024, an 8.9% rise. Greece was the most popular destination, followed by the United Kingdom, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, and Germany.

Overall, Cyprus continues to attract a significant number of tourists, with holidaymakers leading the way in travel purposes, and Cypriots increasingly exploring destinations abroad.
