A new four-year cooperation initiative is set to bring football into high schools across Cyprus, aiming to strengthen the connection between education and sport. The programme forms part of a wider grassroots effort to encourage student participation in physical activity while promoting essential life skills through structured school-based activities.

Under the initiative, schools will receive training support, coaching expertise and sports equipment, while physical education teachers will have the opportunity to gain specialised coaching qualifications. Students will also take part in organised football sessions and themed activity days led by qualified coaches, creating a more interactive and engaging learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Beyond physical activity, the programme focuses on promoting key values such as teamwork, respect, discipline and fair play. It also encourages healthy lifestyles and aims to foster a positive sporting culture among young people, helping to build strong character, social responsibility and a spirit of cooperation among the next generation.
