At an elevation of 570 meters, the charming town of Trimiklini is situated around 27 kilometers northwest of Limassol city. The settlement was present during the Middle Ages and was identified as Trimichini on earlier maps produced by the Venetians. Tradition has claimed that the village's name has three origins. Due to the region's pleasant climate, people would appreciate it in both the winter and the summer, hence the first version's reference to a warm bed (thermi klini). The second version suggests that the name came from the warm fountain (thermi krini), a village fountain whose water is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The third theory contends that the name was derived from the plant Trimithia.
The village is home to a renovated Primary School that is beside the open amphitheater area, which serves as a venue for a variety of events. What is more, there are typical stores and selling locations with local goods, including zivania, wine, fresh fruit from nearby farms, and more, right adjacent to the main road connecting Limassol and Troodos.
Another fascinating element in the village is the Trimiklini dam which supplies water to the community and is around 1.5 kilometers to the north of the village. Any cultivated property in the village where trees yielding various fruits are growing receives water supply from this dam. The village’s Zalakas nature trail is a major positive feature that gives the opportunity to people to walk while taking in panoramic views of the nearby settlements, as well as a lush green landscape.
