Episkopi is a settlement which is located in the Limassol district, about 14 kilometers east of Pafos. Its land is mostly located on the grounds of the British bases in Akrotiri and Episkopi. At an elevation of 60 meters close to the western bank of the river Kouris, Episkopi is situated at the base of the historic Kourion, with a rich plain spreading out to the south.
The ancient relics, which can be seen over the area, are evidence that Episkopi and Kourion were once connected. The name of the settlement was received by the fact that is once served as the episcopal seat for the first centuries following Christ.
