A semi-mountainous settlement, Apesia is located in the Limassol district, at an elevation of 480 meters, south of the Troodos mountains, and in the middle of the rivers Garyllis and Limnati. The name of the village is connected to the Apeso of Asia Minor, and since the earliest residents who arrived at the village were from Asia Minor, it was associated.
The village’s main attractions are the church of Agios Georgios in the newer part of Apesia, the community park which is available for people to enjoy outdoor activities and includes a small amphitheater that is used to host some events in the settlement. There is also an elementary school and some local amenities available.
A small collection of archeological findings has been assembled in Apesia, which the Department of Antiquities has designated as an ancient monument. What is interesting and nice to visit in the village is the donkey’s farm where facilities of nutrition and donkey care were developed.
