Dromolaxia is a village located about 7.5 kilometers southwest of Larnaca city and belongs to Larnaca district. The community was constructed at a height of around 28 meters above sea level. Neighboring villages of Dromolaxia, with which it is connected by a road network, are Meneu, Kiti and Kalo Chorio. The area of Dromolaxia, not far from the ancient city of Kitio, had been inhabited since ancient times. The village has currently 5,240 residents (World Population Overview).
Many Greek Cypriot refugees made Dromolaxia their new home after the Turkish invasion. Settlements for refugees with have been built nearby the community. With the exception of the sudden surge brought on by the flow of migrants, the village's minor distance from the city of Larnaca contributed to its continuous population expansion. The well-known Muslim Mosque of Hala Sultan, is situated in the administrative boundaries of the village and Dromolaxia's eastern borders approach the Larnaca Salt Lake. Many of the village's residents now work at the airport and in employment in Larnaca, and a few of them are professional fishermen.
