A 31-kilometer drive away from Nicosia city, at the base of Machairas, is the village of Lythrodontas, which is a part of the Nicosia district. The village currently has 2,736 residents (World Population Review). The settlement was established during the Byzantine era, but people used to live here since ancient times, according to archeological artifacts from the Hellenistic era.
Moreover, the Upper and Lower Dams on the Koutsos River are located in Lythrodontas. The village’s crops are dominated by the production of olives. The importance of viticulture peaked a few years ago, with oil and commandaria wine being the village’s two principal productions.
There are two different versions of the same story as to how Lythrodontas received its name. It is reported in a document that the village got its name from the first settler, who was known as "Erythrodontas". In a variant of this story, Erythrodon—who through time took the name Lythrodon—is mentioned as a significant local landowner. As a result, he gave the place its name.
The village’s real estate market comprises a diverse selection of properties. These include semi-detached houses, houses, villas, and apartments. 63 properties for sale in Lythrodontas are featured on our listing, where you can find the perfect one for you.
