The redevelopment of Pattichio Park, one of Larnaca’s largest green spaces, has been completed and the park has now been handed over to the municipality. The upgraded area offers a range of new facilities designed to make the park more attractive and accessible for residents and visitors, including walking and cycling routes, a children’s playground, a botanical garden, picnic areas and a dog park.

Among the highlights is a new elevated bridge with viewing points overlooking the salt lake and surrounding landscape, as well as an outdoor gym and improved entrances and public areas around the nearby amphitheatre. A new restaurant with a rooftop viewing area has also been created, while the park has been designed to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists and people with disabilities. More than 100 pine and cypress trees are also expected to be planted as part of the landscaping works.

The completed project is expected to give visitors more opportunities to enjoy one of Larnaca’s most distinctive natural areas, while encouraging outdoor activities, family visits and cultural experiences. The municipality has also announced that some plants will be replaced with suitable native species when weather conditions allow, while the new café and restaurant are expected to open later this year.
