Agios Theodoros is a village in the district of Larnaca that is situated 80 meters above sea level near the river Pentaschinos. It is roughly 3 kilometers from Kofinou and 6 kilometers from the sea. As you stroll through the alleyways of Agios Theodoros you will notice that the village's houses are not crowded or grouped together, but rather are constructed along the river using local limestone rock. Everyone is left with a lasting impression by the lovely, attractive wooden balconies, the front doors made of solid pine wood, and the enclosed courtyards. The village's two halves are connected by a stunning and well-built bridge.
The Agios Theodoros church is a prevailing structure in the village's center. It is a recently constructed temple with a towering dome that is as tall as the bell tower. The movable icon of Saint Theodoros is the only remnant of the former church that was constructed on this spot in the 19th century. The old Venetian Watermill, the old Turkish Cypriot School, and the Turkish Cypriot Mosque are noteworthy attractions in the village. The heroes’ memorial stands at the entrance of the Community Hall and commands attention of passersby. Abraham Ortelius depicted it as S.TODO and PENTASINO on an old map.
