Starting Monday, September 16, new fixed photo-recording cameras will be operational at the intersection of Spyros Kypriakou and Agia Filaxeos avenues in Limassol.

The Police say that this signifies the district of Limassol's traffic signal detection system's expansion. As part of a continuous initiative to lower the number of serious and fatal traffic accidents, encourage improved road awareness, and improve safety on the road network, three new fixed cameras will be placed at the designated intersection.

According to the Police, these cameras will record infractions like speeding, running red lights and over the white line.

It's important to note that Limassol already has a number of fixed cameras watching over important crossroads. Among these places are:

  • Archbishop Makarios III Avenue at the intersection with Despina and Nikos Pattichis Avenue and Archbishop Leontiou A Avenue
