Low-income pensioners to benefit from €250 Easter payment

The government has approved a €250 Easter allowance to support low-income pensioners, offering financial relief during the holiday period. Around 10,000 beneficiaries are expected to receive the payment in 2026, with the total support reaching over €2.5 million.

The allowance will be granted based on the same income criteria used in previous years. Eligible households include single individuals with an annual income of up to €7,000 and couples with a combined income of up to €12,000, with adjustments depending on household size.

In a positive update, the previous deposit limit will no longer apply, making it easier for more eligible individuals to receive support. This initiative aims to provide meaningful assistance and strengthen social support during the Easter season.
