Larnaca Launches Ambitious Greening Initiative to Transform Urban Landscape

The Larnaca municipality has launched a five-tier greening initiative to plant thousands of trees and shrubs across Larnaca, Livadia, and Oroklini, including the creation and renovation of parks and urban spaces.

Key projects include the completed Salina Park, Pattichio Park (scheduled for 2025), and enhancements to the Tsiakkilero refugee settlement park. Tree and shrub planting will also occur during renovations of city squares and the Larnaca-Dhekelia road project. With 26.5 square metres of green space per resident, the city plans to increase this through 19 new or upgraded neighbourhood parks.

The initiative includes a public campaign, “+1 Tree,” encouraging residents to plant trees to commemorate personal milestones, fostering a greener urban environment.
