Protaras Riviera: a new identity for year-round experiences

The Paralimni-Deryneia municipality has introduced a new tourism identity under the name “Protaras Riviera”, with the message “There are reasons to be here every day”, aiming to showcase the area as a Mediterranean destination throughout the year. The strategy brings together the coastal and inland areas of the municipality under one shared identity, highlighting destinations including Protaras, Kapparis, Pernera, Paralimni, Deryneia, Frenaros and Acheritou.

Developed as a long-term tourism plan, the strategy focuses on promoting the region’s beaches, culture, gastronomy, history, nature, local traditions and unique visitor experiences. Alongside promotion, the municipality is planning specialised workshops for tourism professionals and local businesses, with the aim of creating a consistent hospitality experience for visitors.

The first elements of the new identity have already appeared across the area, including new landmarks, visitor spots and themed installations. A new viewpoint at the Xistarka peninsula near Fig Tree Bay has been created, while boat-shaped book-sharing points have been placed at selected beaches. The municipality is also developing new visitor experiences and promotional activities designed to attract visitors beyond the summer season and strengthen the area’s position as a year-round destination.
