Preservation efforts continue at one of Cyprus’ most historic landmarks
Conservation works at the Apostolos Andreas Monastery in Rizokarpaso are progressing steadily and remain on schedule, following a recent on-site inspection by project partners. The visit aimed to review the ongoing restoration efforts and ensure that all works are aligned with the agreed timeline and technical requirements.
Technical experts confirmed that the project is advancing smoothly, with a strong focus on preserving the monastery’s structural integrity while respecting its historical and architectural significance. Located on the remote Karpas peninsula in northeastern Cyprus, the monastery is considered one of the island’s most important religious and cultural landmarks.
The restoration process is being closely monitored to meet international conservation standards, with regular evaluations ensuring quality and consistency. The project also reflects continued cooperation between communities, supported by international partners, with the shared goal of safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations.
