New digital tools enhance tourism experiences in Paphos

Visitors exploring the Paphos district are increasingly using new digital tools designed to provide easier access to information about cultural landmarks, natural attractions and points of interest. The smart signage initiative has recorded strong engagement, with thousands of visitors using QR codes placed on interactive signs across the region.

The digital programme replaces traditional information boards with modern, environmentally friendly signs that provide multilingual content, including audio guides, written information, photos, videos and 360-degree virtual tours. Data collected from the 150 smart signs installed across the district showed more than 43,000 scans between January and June 2026, while the system recorded over 140,000 scans throughout 2025.

The initiative continues to expand, with additional smart signs planned for more locations including Nikokleia, Pelathousa, Polis Chrysochous, Letymbou and areas of the Akamas region. The project aims to improve accessibility, enrich the visitor experience and highlight the cultural and natural heritage of Paphos through modern digital solutions.
