Employment in Cyprus gets to 507,323 in the 3rd quarter of 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, Cyprus's employment rate increased significantly to 507,323 employees, a 2.2% increase over the same period the previous year. According to data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service (CySTAT), out of the total workforce, 454,850 are employed as salaried workers, while 52,473 are self-employed.

The industries that had the biggest growth were Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation, Accommodation, and Food Services. Information and Communication had the largest percentage increases.

In terms of working hours, the total number of hours worked in Q3 2024 amounted to 230.18 million, reflecting a 2.6% increase from the third quarter of 2023. The same sectors, Arts, Entertainment and Recreation, Accommodation and Food Service Activities, and Information and Communication, had the most considerable rise in hours worked.
