The village of Skarinou is situated in the district of Larnaca. It is located along the island's main road that links Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca, 30 kilometers southwest of the city of Larnaca. It is one of the most gorgeous settlements in Cyprus and it is constructed on the sides of a hill. Its houses are constructed from local stone and largely maintain their traditional folk architecture.
Skarinou's station led the village to becoming well-known throughout Cyprus. The Skarinou Station is situated along the former Limassol-Nicosia Road. It was a bustling station where people traveling from Paphos or Limassol to Nicosia and vice versa stopped for rest. The hamlet has grown significantly, and now has a number of agrotourism accommodations. The olive tree's dominant shade of green dominates Skarinou, giving the region a picture-like appearance.
The village has recently started to draw the interest of many people, who have purchased land in its area either to build vacation homes or for investment purposes. This is due to the village's advantageous geographic location between Nicosia and Limassol and its picturesque landscape.
