Larnaca is stepping further into the cultural spotlight following its designation as a future European Capital of Culture, with a growing calendar of events already taking shape. This May, the coastal city will host the 16th edition of the Culture Next conference, bringing together key voices from across the cultural and creative sectors for three days of dialogue and collaboration.

Taking place from May 6 to 8, the conference will gather representatives from around 50 European cities, turning Larnaca into a hub for exchanging ideas, best practices and new partnerships. The programme will explore how culture can be used strategically to support sustainable development, innovation and community participation, while also addressing topics such as cultural policy, artistic collaboration and the challenges faced by creatives in different environments. www.culturenext.eu

A highlight of the event will be the open day on May 7, which invites the public and local artistic community to engage directly with international participants. The day will feature keynote talks, panel discussions and networking opportunities, giving space to both global perspectives and local talent. With free admission and sessions held in English, the event offers a unique opportunity for creatives and the wider public to connect, learn and contribute to the evolving cultural landscape.
