Historic GSP stadium in Nicosia unveils €19 million renovation

The GSP stadium in Nicosia has undergone a €19 million renovation over four years, transforming the historic site. The project, co-funded by the EU through the "THALIA 2021-2027" program, includes a new small amphitheatre with a giant screen and multiple event halls that can host thousands of visitors.

Moreover the project will consist of two underground car parks with over 500 spaces, including charging stations for electric cars. The facility will feature restaurants, cafes, and retail shops while remaining accessible for public leisure activities. The iconic clock at the stadium has been restored, and modern additions like a waterfall have been added. The grounds now include elevated areas with trees and vegetation. The renovated stadium is set to open to the public in the coming months.
