New citizen service centre opens in Athienou
A new citizen service centre has officially opened in Athienou, expanding access to public services for residents of the wider area. The centre began operating on Tuesday and is housed within the local post office at 33A 1st April Street.
According to the Cyprus Post, the new facility will provide the full range of standard citizen services, aiming to make everyday transactions more convenient and accessible. The only exception at this stage is the issuance of passports and identity cards, a service expected to be introduced during the second half of 2026.
The opening of the centre is expected to ease travel to other towns for administrative matters, offering residents a central point for handling key services closer to home and enhancing overall public service delivery in the community.
