New grants for energy-efficient lighting and air-conditioning
EAC Supply, in partnership with the Cyprus Energy Agency, has launched the “AHK+” Grant Scheme to help businesses, local authorities, and vulnerable households transition to more energy-efficient systems. The initiative provides financial support for replacing old lighting and air-conditioning units with modern, high-efficiency devices, promoting both energy savings and the green transition. The total budget for the scheme is €5.5 million, with €4.5 million allocated for lighting and €1 million for air-conditioning.
The scheme is divided into two main categories. Category A targets businesses, organisations, and local authorities, providing grants for LED lighting panels. Standard 60x60cm LED panels are subsidised at €30 each, while 17cm round panels receive €20 per unit. Category B is designed for vulnerable households under Tariff 08, supporting the replacement of old air-conditioning units with new devices rated A++ or A+++, with grants ranging from €170 to €470 depending on the unit’s capacity.
The “AHK+” scheme will run for three years, with applications accepted until September 30, 2028, or until funds are exhausted. Applications must be submitted via the scheme’s online platform, and further details, including step-by-step guidelines, are provided in the official scheme guide.
