New development aims to support students in Limassol

Limassol Municipality is planning to launch an architectural competition soon for the city’s first student housing project. The €6.5 million development will be built on municipal land near the city center and aims to offer affordable housing to students, with rents around 30% lower than the current market prices. This will help ease the financial burden on students and their families.

The competition’s evaluation committee has already met to finalize the terms and timeline, and the municipality hopes to publish the competition within three weeks. The project will involve both municipal funding and private investment. Importantly, 80 units will be designed to accommodate students with mobility issues or those needing companions.

Once construction begins, the building phase is expected to take about 20 months, with the full project likely to be completed within 3 to 4 years. This initiative is part of Limassol’s broader development plans to improve infrastructure and living standards in the city.
