Cyprus now accepting applications for digital nomad visa
The Cyprus government has launched the Digital Nomad Visa scheme, aiming to attract non-EU and non-EEA nationals who work remotely for foreign companies. This initiative is designed to strengthen Cyprus as a hub for electronic services and boost the local business ecosystem.
Under the scheme, successful applicants will receive a one-year temporary residence permit, renewable for up to two additional years. Applicants must have a stable monthly income of at least €3,500 and must prove they work for companies or clients based outside Cyprus. Family members of digital nomads can also join them but are not allowed to work in Cyprus.
Applications must be submitted within three months of arrival, and the processing time is typically 5 to 7 weeks. There is a €70 fee for the residence permit, with the possibility of renewal. The visa also offers tax benefits for those residing in Cyprus for at least 183 days a year.
