In Kissonerga, a long-standing road issue is beginning to ease as several speed bumps are being removed from a short stretch that had drawn frequent complaints from drivers. The area had become known for having an unusually high number of speed bumps along a relatively small section of road.

The Akamas Municipality has initiated the removal of four speed bumps along Christou Kkeli Avenue, following an assessment carried out in cooperation with relevant services. The study concluded that these particular installations were not necessary, allowing for a more balanced approach to traffic flow and road use.

At the same time, key safety features will remain in place, especially near schools and junctions, ensuring that road safety continues to be prioritised. Discussions are also ongoing around additional improvements, with local communities exploring alternative measures that can enhance safety while creating a smoother driving experience.
