Tourism boosts Cyprus economy with €3.2 billion in 2024
Tourism revenue in Cyprus experienced a notable 17% year-on-year increase in December 2024, reaching €86.9 million, up from €74.3 million in December 2023. This boost in earnings is part of a larger trend, with total tourism revenue for the year amounting to €3.2 billion, a 7.3% rise compared to €2.99 billion in 2023.
In December 2024, the average per capita expenditure of tourists was €653.27, reflecting an 8.7% increase from the previous year. British tourists, who made up 23.7% of arrivals, spent an average of €64.12 per day. Israeli visitors, the second-largest group at 17.4%, had significantly higher daily spending of €162.55, while Polish tourists, comprising 9.4% of arrivals, spent €72.17 per day.
