Treis Elies is a picturesque settlement in the district of Limassol that is a part of South Marathassa and is situated at the northwest corner of the city. At an average altitude of 1000 meters, the settlement is situated along the banks of the Diarizos tributary of the Drakon river. Nearby villages include Lemythos to the northeast, Kaminaria to the southwest, Paliomylos to the east, Agios Dimitrios to the southeast, and the village is about 9 kilometers southwest of Prodromos.
As from where the name of the village derives, it is said that three olive trees exist in the village, which is unusual for a mountainous region, and this is from where the name got inspired. The village appears to have been around since the 15th century, at the conclusion of the Frankish era, as shown by an iconostasis's arch's presence.
One will come across a hill, which has the renowned Katsunopetros on the top, just before entering the settlement. It is a fairly large rock, due to its positioning and shape, and resembles the head of a bird.
