13 kilometers west of Episkopi is the village of Avdimou, which is part of the district of Limassol. It shares boundaries with Pissouri, Platanisteia, and Agios Thomas to the west, Anogyra to the northwest, Prastio Avdimou to the north, and Paramali to the east. The region where the British Bases are located is where the community's southern portion is located. Under the Lusignan era, Avdimou was one of the 12 districts of Cyprus, and during the Venetian rule, it was a significant center.
In Avdimou there is only one church and it is the largest one, the church of the Transfiguration of the Savior. What is more, the village is home to a public regional kindergarten and a regional elementary school. There is also a community park with lots of greenery, trees, beautiful flowers and walkways. The bay of Avdimou is located to the south of the hamlet and a river passes across the little bay. A one-kilometer stretch of long, sandy beach, several impromptu amusement areas, and old, collapsed carob depots make up the bay.
Several locals now are working in a variety of jobs, in the English bases or in the city of Limassol, which is really near by the village. The village also has a small beach, the Avdimou beach, is situated in the Avdimou Bay. Given that it is less than 1 km long, it is a fairly short beach. Mainly British soldiers and families are the main visitors of the cozy beach.
